Life stands still

The winds have died down, but it is still only 3 degrees. In the waterfowl park everything seems frozen in time, including this goose who posed for me. Two ducks floated back and forth in a small part of unfrozen water. The air is hazy, there is a heaviness in the air, waiting for what is to come: snow? rain? Who knows? But I get a sense that the dam is ready to break loose, and the rush of life will soon be evident around us.
